GREAT GRANDMA CLARA’S RUGELACH

˝ lb. sweet butter or margarine

˝ lb. cream cheese

2 cups  of flour

Sugar

Cinnamon

Raisins, chopped nuts, jam or whatever you wish to put inside

 

1.        Let butter and cream cheese get very soft by leaving it out.

 

2.        Blend butter with cream cheese using a wooden spoon.

 

3.        Add 2 cups of flour gradually, mixing as much as you can.

 

4.        Knead dough with your hands, making it into a ball.

 

5.        Cover and refrigerate overnight.

 

6.        In morning take it out and make it into three balls.  Refrigerate what you are not using at that moment.

 

7.        Using about a cup of sugar, spread cinnamon and sugar all over the table, and roll dough out over it.  (add flour if needed)

 

8.        Cut dough into triangles.

 

9.        Put whatever you want in the middle (chocolate chips, jam, raisins, etc.)

 

10.    If you are not using jam add a little more sugar.

 

11.    Roll and place on an ungreased cookie sheet with the point down.

 

12.    Bake at 350 for 25 minutes.
